It is the policy of the parade committee to go forward in the event of light rain or snow. Due to the enormous amount of logistics involved with the event, it is not feasible for us to reschedule. We do understand the weather presents challenges for certain units, and respect the decision of any participants who err on the side of caution and not participate. We thank you for your understanding.

Inclement Weather Information

Greetings from the York Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.

If you are following the weather forecasts for this weekend, you are likely as anxious as we are about the possibility of showers on Saturday. We are monitoring the weather forecast and will continue to do so throughout the week. It is the intention of the parade committee to announce any weather-related decisions by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

We advise all parade participants and spectators to utilize the following options for weather-related announcements:

Twitter:  Follow @YorkStPatParade
Web site:
Television:  abc27 WHTM, WGAL-TV, WRCT Channel 18
Radio:  WGTY 107.7

A recorded message will be updated on our cell phone voicemail (717-578-0146). Due to the high number of calls, it will not be possible to respond to all calls. Email will be the best way to reach us if you require a response:

Due to the enormous amount of advance planning that goes into the parade, and because many of our participants and volunteers have other commitments during the busy Saint Patrick’s Day season, an inclement weather date is not feasible.  The parade will go on as scheduled if there is light rain or snow.  The parade would only be canceled in the event of severely inclement weather where there are serious safety concerns.

We recognize that participants have spent a great deal of time, effort and money preparing for the parade, as has the committee for the past year, but safety must be our top consideration if the weather becomes severe, or if conditions are left after severe weather that will make participating unsafe.

We thank you for your understanding.  Let’s draw on the luck of the Irish and hope for a grand and glorious day!!

Please share this information with everyone you know who may be interested.

2013 Line of March Announced

Click the link below for a printer-friendly version of our official parade program that will be distributed along the parade route. The parade program will be printed in 11x17 format, but the linked document will print on four letter-size pages.

Please remember to thank our sponsors for their generosity. Without the financial support of many in the community, our all-volunteer committee would not be able to present this annual celebration of Celtic heritage.

Thanks for your interest in the parade, and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
